Gering tennis returns from state and makes history

The Gering boys Tennis team had a nice showing at the Class B state tournament. The day was highlighted by the number one doubles pairing of Dyson Dollarhide and Hunter Walker. The duo were able to win handley in the first round of state against Scottsbluff 6-1 6-2. However in the 2nd round they would run into the 4th seeded team in the tournament Mt Michael. Walker and Dollarhide became the first doubles team in school history to win a match at the state tournament. Also playing was Mark Karpf who lost in a tough match to York 6-3 6-0. Senior Caleb Andrews would also play a tough match as he would fall to Ralston 6-3 6-4. And to finish out the bulldogs 1st round matchups the young doubles pairing of Freshman David Karpf and Sophomore Trent Davis would lose as well to Grand Island Central Catholic 6-1 6-1. Congratulations to the Bulldogs on a great season
